I wasn’t especially good at art when younger but I have always enjoyed drawing.
As my family started to grow up, become more independent and finally fly the nest progressively I had more time to join classes and I found the experience and
challenge of art absorbing and fun.

I especially enjoy watercolour painting including ink and wash, though I’m now trying my hand at oils. I paint a variety of subject matter but frequently find myself drawn to capture where possible a feeling of ‘relationship’. For this often grandchildren provide inspiration!
Over the years I’ve been in some super classes at Dallam Community with Jill Colqhuoun, The Brewery in Kendal with Linda Gray and Frances Winder and some independent workshops most recently with Kate Bentley. All of these artists have
been wonderful inspiration and generous teachers. I’m a relatively new member of Cartmel Art Society and have found it not only a very welcoming society but a
dynamic and stimulating group of very competent artists.
