" ...a longstanding, well regarded, and
mainly 'non-professional' group of artists based in the
medieval Priory village of Cartmel, in the Lake District"
In 2014, the year of its 48th Annual Exhibition
Our home is the lovely Cartmel Village Hall where regular meetings are held between September and May - and during the summer months various venues are arranged for outdoor painting.
We are happy to welcome enthusiastic new members, including relatively inexperienced artists, as we all learn from each other.
Many of you will know us from our Annual Exhibition in the village hall, for others this will be your first contact with our art society. But members, old friends or new we hope you enjoy our website and particularly our new on-line Gallery.
As always we love to hear from you with suggestions or queries whether they be about the society, a particular artist or indeed an individual painting.
It is difficult to imagine a more inspiring place for artists. Our medieval village boasts a wonderful collection of old buildings, a magnificent Norman archway leading into a picture book village square, and the famous twelfth century Priory.
